We engage and serve all African immigrant and refugee communities in Washington State. Our primary focus is on small African communities in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties who are underrepresented and underserved in WA State.
The ALHB led many programs to educate the African immigrant and refugee community about COVID-19. In addition, we hosted a wide variety of virtual discussions that gave members of this community a safe space to ask questions and discuss hardships they were facing during this period. The sessions gave immigrants and refugees an opportunity to discuss these things amongst peers who share the same culture, speak the same language, and understand what they are going through.
To advocate and achieve health equity in a culturally appropriate manner and create a healthier African

The African Leaders Health Board (ALHB) of Washington State is a group of African Immigrant and Refugee Leaders driven by the importance of the health and well-being of Africans in the state.
